Preventative Maintenance and Repairs are critical to roof longevity,
But to save money by hiring the cheapest unskilled roofer is like
"stopping the clock to save time"

Cheap Price Reality relates to:
A) Caulking broken tile leaks; whereas it's the Underlayment below the tile that should be replaced,
B) Caulking roof vent jack flashing; instead of replacing the flashing,
C) Shoddy looking roof leak repairs using flashing cement to cover shingle decay, and at flashing leaks resulting in bucking water, leaving concerns for hidden dry rot damage, and toxic mold,
D) Re-roofing contractor's operating with unsupervised Pieceworker's paid for their volume leave concerns for potential premature roof leaks from stretched tile, unsecured tile, and from bucking water felt leaving the roof leaking, and with safety hazards,
E) Licensed Roofer operating under the table with the unlicensed, uninsured subcontractor; leaving a sloppy and leaky throw-on-roof without warranty, to include the potential for linking the property to litigation from a worker injury claim.
F) Roof re-cover can create excessive weight, and concerns for dry rot damage, and other issues hidden under the original roof,
G) Working out-of-trade for structural renovations below the roof covering can weakened roof structure.
